HSN Statement of Faith
"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk
worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and
gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to
keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one
Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one
faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through
all, and in you all."
(Ephesians 4:1-6, NKJV)
The purpose of The Homeschoolers Support Network is to minister
to home educating families in New Jersey. As a distinctively Christian group,
our past, present, and future are devoted to service within the body of Christ.
We welcome as members all people of good will who are comfortable within that
context.
Some members may be called by God to a deeper level of service
through leadership within The Homeschoolers Support Network. In order to
maintain our primary goal, which is service to Christ and His people, we ask
that those in leadership be of one heart and mind regarding certain key elements
of faith.
We, the leadership of The Homeschoolers Support Network,
believe:
There is one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and
earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
Jesus Christ is the only-begotten Son of God, He is very God
of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom
all things were made.
For us and for our salvation, Christ came down from heaven,
and was born of the virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit, and was
made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again,
according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right
hand of the Father; and He shall come again in glory, to judge the quick and the
dead; His kingdom shall have no end.
The Holy Spirit is the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds
from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is
worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired
Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of
His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for
Christian faith and life.
The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide
the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only
such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and, thus, become
children of God. |
